car defect could lead to higher risk for a car accident

Pennsylvania readers will note that Ford has initiated a recall that affects the 2009 and 2010 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX. These vehicles have problems with fuel leaks, which could place drivers at a higher risk for a car accident or other issues. This recall affects vehicles that are driven in areas where salt is frequently used to clear the roads of snow and ice. 

The salt from the roads can cause rust on the fuel tanks. Eventually, this can cause the tanks to crack, which could eventually lead to a fire. Ford has stated that it does not believe any accidents or injuries have resulted from this issue but is offering to fix the issue for free. Pennsylvania drivers will note that this recall affects 129,000 vehicles.
